What is xStocks?
xStocks is a tokenized equities service built on Solana that allows real publicly traded stocks to exist as on-chain tokens. xStocks lets you hold real stocks like Apple and Tesla inside your crypto wallet on Solana. Each xStock represents a real share (or a fraction of a share) in a publicly listed company such as Apple, Tesla, Nvidia, or Coinbase that is fully backed by real shares held by regulated custodians. So if you own an xStock, you own a claim on an actual stock that exists in the traditional financial markets.

How xStocks works
In the traditional financial system, you need a broker to access available stocks and the markets only open during fixed hours. Settlement can take days, and moving assets between platforms can be slow and expensive. xStocks removes all of that friction by putting stocks directly on the blockchain. Once a stock is tokenized, it can be sent, traded, and used like any other crypto asset, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world.
How xStocks are created
Behind every xStock is a real tradfi stock held by a licensed custodian. This regulated entity buys real shares of publicly traded companies like Apple or Tesla and then locks them in custody. Then, an equal number of xStock tokens is minted on Solana to create a 1:1 backing that strengthens the system. This can be verified on-chain through the protocol’s Proof-of-Reserve initiative.
- 1 real AAPL (Apple share) in custody
- 1 AAPLx token on Solana
If tokens are burned on-chain, the real shares are released. If new shares are bought, new tokens are minted. This keeps the system fully collateralized at all times.

How xStocks trade on Solana
Once minted, all xStocks tokens behave like any other Solana ecosystem token. They can be held in wallets and sent to anyone. Users can trade them for other tokens on DEXs or use them as collateral on lending protocols that support them. Their value moves with the value of the stocks in the market, and they are tracked using real-time oracle feeds that keep the on-chain price in sync with the stock market price.
Buying the Apple Stock on Solana
In this section, I purchased the AAPLx xStock on Solana. To get the exact xStock token on-chain, click the blockchain of your choice in the Products section of the app (Solana in this case) and copy the token contract address. The current market cap is about $22m, while each share costs about $253.

After copying the contract address, paste it on Jupiter to swap a token for it. In the example below, I exchanged 50 USDC for a fraction of an AAPLx token.

The token has enough liquidity, like other tokenized stocks provided by xStocks, to prevent high slippages that reduce the value obtainable for every token swap with respect to the current market value of the token.

Bridge
xStocks has a bridge feature that enables a user to transfer a tokenized stock from one blockchain to another. Currently available for Ethereum and Solana, this feature is still in production and should only be used for small amounts to prevent losses.

Conclusion
xStocks gives people in any country access to global equities without needing a U.S. brokerage. It allows instant settlement, and it lets developers build new financial tools around stocks. Portfolios, automated strategies, and hybrid crypto-stock products are now possible because equities live on-chain.
