What is Mallow?
Mallow is a peer-to-peer NFT marketplace on Solana focused on digital art and collectibles. It is a curated platform where artists and collectors can interact directly without middlemen. Mallow guarantees fair royalties for creators, and it provides a smooth trading experience for all counterparties in a trade.
How Mallow Works
To get started, follow the steps below:
- Connect Your Wallet: Use wallets like Phantom or Solflare to connect your Solana account to the Mallow application. Sign the wallet based on the prompt to grant Mallow permission to use the wallet for any of the transactions you initiated.
- Mint or List Art: Upload your artwork to Mallow, add metadata, set royalties, and publish it. After posting the artwork, Mallow lists the artwork on their platform for potential buyers to see. To get started with minting as an art creator, fill out the Mallow Creator Application form.
- Discover & Trade: Browse collections, follow artists, and buy art.
- Engage & Govern: Use SMORES for rewards, platform governance, and premium features.
Artwork Type
1/1 Artworks: The 1/1 Artwork sale type is the most used feature for trading digital artworks on Mallow. Creators design their work and list it as single copies for any interested buyer.
Editions and Following: These are two styles of art drops, but are not commonly used by the community.
Mallow offers multiple listing types, such as Auction for users to bid, Buy Now for immediate purchase, gumball and raffle listings.
Explore
To get started with viewing listed artworks on Mallow, click on the “Explore” button to select a type of artwork available to view and purchase.
Talk
Before users can talk on the Mallow app, they must create a user profile with at least a username and a display name.
The talkboard functions like the timeline of popular social media apps like X and Facebook, where the posts of users are displayed in a queue for others to see. Users can view the posts of those they are following and posts from the general community.
Shop
Mallow has a shop where merchandise can be purchased from the store using the SMORES token. SMORES is the native token of the application.
To purchase this, the buyer must redeem the merchandise with the required token amount.
Supply an address for Mallow to ship your merchandise and gifts.
Rewards
Mallow provides some incentives to its users through the following mechanisms:
SMORES
This token is distributed to all active users of the Mallow application through a weekly points system. The more a person uses Mallow, the more their allocation from the pool of tokens to be distributed.
Monkeys
Mallow has its NFT collection known as the “mallow monkeys”. Purchasing the NFT gives the user a 10% points multiplier for the weekly points system.
The Mallow Monkeys NFT collection is available to purchase on the Tensor Marketplace.
XNU Swaps
Before SMORES, Mallow used the XNU token as its native token. But it has since discontinued support for the token. For all holders of XNU, Mallow allows for a swap from XNU to the newly supported SMORES token.
